    Sue Beathler played a major role in establishing West Liberty as the dominant women's tennis program in the West Virginia Conference during the 1990s. The Mansfield, Ohio native won a total of six WVIAC singles and doubles championships during an impressive career that ran from 1992-95.
    The Hilltopper standouts won conference championships at No. 2 singles in 1992, 1994 and 1995. She also teamed with fellow WLU Hall of Famer Kelly Brown to win three straight conference titles at No. 1 doubles (1993, 1994 and 1995). Brown and Beathler were ranked among the Top 50 doubles tandems in the NAIA during the 1995 season.
    West Liberty was undefeated in conference play during Beathler's career, reeling off a record string of 43 consecutive WVIAC wins. The Hilltoppers were a sizzling 58-3 overall in her four varsity seasons. Beathler graduated from West Liberty with a Dental Hygiene degree in 1996 and also holds a license in Local Anesthesia from Stark (Ohio) State College.
