Long-time West Liberty assistant wrestling coach and faculty member Rick Price first made his mark on campus as a multi-sport star in wrestling, track and cross country from 1967-71.
A 3-time WVIAC champion on the mat, Price was a 3-year team captain who set a school record for winning percentage that still stands with an eye-popping 57-5-1. He also earned All-WVIAC honors in track and cross country.
Following graduation, Price spent several years as a teacher and coach with the Beaver Local (Ohio) School District before returning to his alma mater as an assistant wrestling coach. Price spent several decades as a popular instructor in the Physical Education department while helping Hall of Fame head coach Dr. Vince Monseau lead the West Liberty mat program to national prominence.
