CLAYSVILLE, Pa. – The West Liberty University men's tennis team returns to the court Friday morning, hosting Frostburg State in a Mountain East Conference matchup at 10:30 a.m. at McGuffey High School.

West Liberty enters the contest looking to regroup as conference play heats up. The Hilltoppers opened the season with a strong 5-2 victory over Penn State Behrend but have faced a challenging stretch since, including a demanding spring break trip and a slate of early MEC opponents.

Despite recent results, West Liberty has shown flashes of competitiveness, including a narrow 4-3 loss to Gordon during its Hilton Head trip. The Hilltoppers will look to build on that effort as they return to a familiar home site in Claysville.

Frostburg State comes into the matchup with a 1-6 record on the season, earning its lone win with a 5-2 victory over Millersville. The Bobcats have also faced a tough schedule and most recently dropped a 7-0 decision to Charleston in MEC play.

Historically, West Liberty has had the edge in the series, holding a 3-1 record against Frostburg State since 2021. The Hilltoppers won three straight matchups from 2021 through 2023, including a pair of 7-0 sweeps, before the Bobcats claimed a 7-0 victory in last season's meeting.
