WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's and women's tennis teams return to action this weekend as they host University of Charleston on Saturday and Davis & Elkins College on Sunday at McGuffey High School in Claysville, Pa.
First serve for both matches is scheduled for noon.
Women Look to Climb MEC Standings
The Hilltopper women enter the weekend looking to build momentum in Mountain East Conference play. West Liberty sits at 0-1 in league action and is aiming to move up in a tightly packed conference standings race.
West Virginia State University currently leads the MEC at 2-0, while teams such as Fairmont State and West Virginia Wesleyan remain just behind. Charleston (7-4 overall) enters the weekend on a four-match win streak, presenting a strong challenge for the Hilltoppers on Saturday.
West Liberty will then turn its attention to Davis & Elkins on Sunday. The Senators enter at 3-5 overall and 0-1 in MEC play, making the matchup an important opportunity for both teams to gain ground early in the conference schedule.
Despite recent setbacks, the Hilltoppers have shown the ability to compete this spring and will look to translate that into results on their home courts.
