Charleston, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's golf team closed out day one of the UC Invitational at the Berry Hills Country Club in sixth place with a team score of 426 (+146) in the spring opener. The Hilltoppers were led by a pair of golfers in the top-25 of the team leaderboard as
Erin Shockey and
Alexis Ramby led the team with scores of 89 and 90 to be tied for 20
th and 22
nd place.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Erin Shockey led the way for West Liberty on the first day of competition in the spring season with an 89 (+19) in round one, which included a birdie on hole five. She added four pars in the opening round.
- Alexis Ramby was close behind as the number two golfer for the Hilltoppers, as she turned in an opening round score of 90 (+20). She notched four holes with scores of par on the afternoon.
- Payton Sherry rounded out day one at the UC Invitational with a first round score of 123 (+53), as she tallied one hole with a score of par and one with a bogey.
- Anna Griffith rounded out the team lineup with a round one score of 124 (+54) at the Berry Hills Country Club as she scored par on one hole and added a pair of bogeys.
