FAIRVIEW, Pa. — The West Liberty University women's golf team completed the opening round of the Michael Corbett Fall Classic on Sunday at Whispering Woods Golf Club, closing the day in 10th place in the team standings.

The Hilltoppers finished the first round at +175, led by Sara Simon, who carded a team-best 100 (+28) to sit in a tie for 43rd place individually. Hannah Shepherd followed with a 109 (+37), while Brooke Perri shot 120 (+48) and Reese Ward posted 134 (+62) to round out the team scoring.

Tournament host Gannon University leads the 10-team field at +13, followed by Walsh (+20) and Charleston (WV) (+23) in the top three.
