West Liberty, W.Va. - The West Liberty University women's golf team will close out its fall season this weekend at the Michael Corbett Fall Classic, hosted by Gannon University on October 12–13 at Whispering Woods Golf Club in Erie, Pennsylvania.
The two-day tournament will feature a competitive NCAA Division II field that includes programs such as Gannon, Charleston (W.Va.), Seton Hill, Walsh, Kutztown, Ursuline, and Clarion. The Hilltoppers will send a four-player lineup into the event for their fourth and final tournament of the fall campaign.
West Liberty enters the weekend following a strong showing at the Mountain East Conference Championship, where Sara Simon led the Hilltoppers with a top-15 individual finish, tying for 14th after rounds of 89, 82, and 94 at The Resort at Glade Springs. The Hilltoppers tied for seventh overall in the team standings and showed steady improvement throughout the three-round event.
The Black and Gold will look to carry that momentum into the final weekend of the fall as they compete against one of the deepest fields they've faced this season.
Round One Tee Times (Sunday, Oct. 12 – 9:30 a.m. Start)
All four Hilltoppers will tee off in the 9:30 a.m. wave alongside competitors from Pennsylvania Western University and Seton Hill University.
