DANIELS, W.Va. — West Liberty University's Sara Simon capped off an impressive showing at the 2025 Mountain East Conference Women's Golf Championship on Wednesday, finishing in a tie for 14th place after three rounds of competition at The Resort at Glade Springs.

Simon posted rounds of 89, 82, and 94 to finish at +51, securing the highest individual finish for the Hilltoppers. Her steady play over the first two rounds helped her advance to Wednesday's championship round, where she battled challenging course conditions and a deep field of regional talent.

As a team, Charleston (WV) captured the MEC Championship with a +87 total, led by co-medalists Mari Filippa Larsen and Lucia Martin, who shared individual honors at +16. Glenville State finished runner-up at +119, while Fairmont State took third at +236.

West Liberty finished tied for seventh overall, posting team rounds of +174 and +168 before the cut.

The Hilltoppers will close out their fall season when they travel to Erie, Pennsylvania, for the Michael Corbett Fall Classic, hosted by Gannon University on October 12–13 at Whispering Woods Golf Club.
