Charleston, W.Va. – A total of eight West Liberty men's and women's golfers scored season-best rounds during the first day of the UC Invitational as the men's team currently sits second with a two round score of 575 (+29) and the women's team is 11^th with a first round score of 346 (+62).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED - WLU MEN'S GOLF

• Justin Doerr will look to turn in the Hilltoppers' first 54-hole tournament score of under par tomorrow, as he enters the final round with a score of 139 (-1) after rounds of 71 (+1) and 68 (-2).
• Brandon Lawhon opened the day with his lowest round total of the season with an even 70. He closed the day with a score of 71 (+1) in round two to enter the final day at 141 (+1).
• Derek Graham shot the lowest round by a WLU golfer all season with a bogey free round of 66 (-4). In round two he shot 77 (+7) and is sitting at 143 (+3) after 36-holes.
• Playing as an individual, Ethan Cook shot a round one score of 77 (+7) before recording a season-low of 73 (+3) for a 36-hole total of 150 (+10).
• Noah Seivertson tied his season-low round total in both round one and two at the Berry Hills Country Club with scores of 76 (+6) for a total of 152 (+12).
• Bo Orecchio rounds out the West Liberty lineup on day one of the UC Invitational, carding rounds of 78 (+8) and 76 (+6) for a total of 154 (+14).
• The final West Liberty men's golfer playing at the UC Invitational is Jayson Beckner, who tied a season-low in round one with a 73 (+3) and concluded the first day with an 83 (+13) for a two round total of 156 (+16).

HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU WOMEN'S GOLF

• Alexis Ramby led the way for the West Liberty women's golf team, carding the lowest round of the season for a Hilltopper women's golfer with an 82 (+11).
• Erin Shockey and Sara Simon each scored a season-low of 84 (+13) during the first round of the UC Invitational, tying for second in the West Liberty lineup.
• Payton Sherry bested her previous season-low by 15 strokes during the first round at the Edgewood Country Club, recording a 96 (+25).
• Anna Griffith rounded out the lineup for the Black & Gold on day one in Charleston, scoring a 113 (+42).
