North East, Pa. – The West Liberty University golf programs turned in a pair of top-10 finishes at the Mercyhurst Fall Invitational (Men's) and the Evann Parker Memorial Invitational (Women's) this weekend. The Hilltopper men posted a 36-hole score of 622 (+46) for a tenth place finish while the women tied for seventh with a two round score of 718 (+142).
Erin Shockey was one of three WLU women's golfers who shot or tied a season low score a total of 163 (+19) to tie for tenth on the player leaderboard.

HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU MEN'S GOLF
- Bo Orecchio and Derek Graham were both part of a tie for 32nd overall and led the way for the West Liberty lineup with scores of 155 (+11). Orecchio turned in a 77 (+5) first round and then a 78 (+6) second round, tallying two birdies in the tournament. Graham notched a 78 (+6) in the opening round and then shot a 77 (+5) in the final round, while collecting four birdies in the pair of rounds.
- Awethu Mkhwanazi and Justin Doerr both recorded a 36-hole total of 156 (+12) to tie for 41st overall. They each notched identical scores of 78 (+6) in both the first and second rounds. Doerr collected three birdies in the tournament while Mkhwanazi had one.
- Cao Yixing rounded out the Hilltopper lineup with a two round score of 167 (+23) and tied for 70th overall. He turned in a first round score of (+14) followed by an 81 (+9) in the second round which included one birdie.

HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU WOMEN'S GOLF
- Erin Shockey led the way for the West Liberty women's golf team, tying for tenth overall while carding a new season-low 36-hole score at 163 (+19). She opened the tournament with an 82 (+10), and then recorded a new season-low round score at 81 (+9) in the second round. She notched one birdie on Saturday.
- Sara Simon also recorded a new season-low 36-hole score with a 2-day total of 174 (+30) for a tie for 27th overall. She collected four birdies on Friday while scoring an 85 (+13) on the day, and then shot an 89 (+17) in the second round.
- Alexis Ramby tied for 37th overall in North East, Pennsylvania, carding a 181 (+37) in the two round event. She recorded round scores of 88 (+16) and 93 (+21).
- Payton Sherry tied her previous season-low 36-hole score with a 200 (+56) in two days to finish 52nd overall. She tallied a first round score of 99 (+27) and then a second round score of 101 (+29).
- Anna Griffith rounded out the West Liberty lineup with a new 36-hole score of 217 (+73) overall and placed 60th on the player leaderboard. She shot a season-low single round score of 105 (+33) on Friday and then scored 112 (+40) today to close the tournament.

UP NEXT
The West Liberty University men's golf team has concluded the fall portion of their schedule while the women's team has one tournament remaining. The Hilltoppers will travel to Brookville, Pennsylvania for the Clarion Fall Invitational on October 15-16 where they will play the Pinecrest Country Club.
