JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – Behind a standout round from Adam Gill, the West Liberty University men's golf team made a move up the leaderboard Friday during round two of the 2026 NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional at Sunnehanna Country Club.

The Hilltoppers improved to +29 overall (15-14) and sit tied for 10th heading into Saturday's final round, positioning themselves within striking distance of the top eight teams that advance.

Gill delivered one of the top rounds of the day, firing a 3-under par 67 to vault into a tie for second place individually at even par through 36 holes. He enters the final round just one shot back of the individual leader, firmly in contention for a regional title.

Justin Doerr added a solid effort for West Liberty, carding a 4-over 74 on Friday. He sits tied for 33rd overall at +6, continuing to provide steady play for the Hilltoppers.

Ethan Cook posted a 5-over 75 and is tied for 55th, while Carter Stewart turned in an 8-over 78 to sit 75th. Brandon Lawhon rounded out the lineup with an 82 in round two.

As a team, West Liberty shaved a stroke off its opening-round score and climbed into the top 10 in a tightly packed field. Just a handful of shots separate multiple teams in the middle of the standings, setting up a competitive final round.

Wheeling holds the team lead at +14, followed closely by Gannon at +16, while Pitt-Johnstown and Charleston are tied for third at +21.
