Ohler, Davis Lead West Liberty on Day Two of Tim Weaver Invitational

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's and women's track & field teams delivered an impressive opening day performance at the Tim Weaver Invitational, highlighted by multiple event wins, personal bests, and strong all-around depth on Saturday.

Men's Highlights

West Liberty dominated on the track, led by a standout day from Tristin Ohler. The sophomore sprint star swept both the 100 meters (10.83) and 200 meters (21.87), posting a personal-best time in the 200.

The Hilltoppers continued their success in the 400 meters, where freshman Dominic Gianangeli captured first place (50.97), while Harry Kanu added a third-place finish with a personal-best 51.20.

In distance events, Robert Allen won the 10,000 meters (31:54.84), with freshman Jasper Brown placing third in a personal-best performance. Shepherd Richey added another victory in the 5,000 meters (16:17.65).

West Liberty also showcased depth in the middle distances, as Francis Toohey (2nd) and Zachary Workman (3rd) both ran sub-1:56 times in the 800 meters.

In the field events, Ethan Furbee and George Donovic tied for first in the high jump (1.90m), while John Bowen claimed the pole vault title (3.50m). Mason Fraley turned in strong performances in the throws, including a third-place finish in the discus and fifth in the hammer.

The Hilltoppers capped the day with a win in the 4x100 relay, as the quartet of Isaiah Zelaski, Dominic Gianangeli, Carson Brundige, and Ohler posted a time of 42.65.

West Liberty also excelled in the decathlon, sweeping the top two spots with freshman Seth Wisman (5403 points) and senior Reese Burnside (5303 points), both recording personal-best totals.

Women's Highlights

On the women's side, Kaylee Davis led the way with a dominant sprint performance, placing second in the 100 meters before winning the 200 meters (27.49).

The Hilltoppers controlled the 800 meters, finishing 1-2 as Lacey Dimit took the win (2:21.46) and Naomi Young followed closely behind in second with a personal-best time.

West Liberty also excelled in the hurdles, with Marissa Scott winning the 100-meter hurdles (15.65) and Sophie Abraham finishing second. Scott added a runner-up finish in the pole vault to cap a strong all-around day.

In the field events, Ky'Ara Ross delivered one of the top performances of the meet, winning the long jump (5.88m) and placing second in the triple jump with a personal-best mark.

Sierra Davis led the throwing group with a runner-up finish in the shot put and a third-place mark in the discus, while Brooklyn Lucas added a third-place finish in the javelin.

The Hilltoppers also claimed the 4x100 relay title, as the team of Ky'Ara Ross, Kaylee Davis, Brookelyn Reynolds, and Sierra Lanham crossed in 49.69.
