West Liberty, W.Va. - West Liberty University freshman sprinter Tristin Ohler earns Hilltopper of the Week honors after a strong performance at the Marty Pushkin WVU Invitational.
The Meyersdale, Pa. native turned in a breakout effort in the 100-meter dash, clocking a personal-best time of 10.59 seconds to claim first place in the event. Competing against a strong field, Ohler's time stands as the top mark in the Mountain East Conference this season and continues his rapid rise as one of the Hilltoppers' top sprint threats.
Ohler's winning time came with a legal 1.0 m/s wind and showcased his explosive speed and ability to perform on a big stage. The freshman's performance not only marked a personal best, but also solidified his role as a key contributor for West Liberty moving into the heart of the outdoor season.
The Hilltoppers will look to carry that momentum into this weekend as West Liberty hosts the Tim Weaver Memorial Friday and Saturday.
