ASHLAND, Ohio — West Liberty opened competition Friday at the Ashland Jud Logan Light Giver Invitational inside the Niss Athletic Center, highlighted by a victory in the women's 800 meters.

Kenzi Upole captured first place in the 800m, crossing the line in 2:40.51. Sierra Lanham turned in a strong performance in the women's elite long jump, finishing runner-up with a leap of 5.44 meters, while Leah Delaney placed eighth in the women's weight throw with a toss of 13.21 meters.

Action at the Ashland Jud Logan Light Giver Invitational continues Saturday.
