WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University track and field teams are competing at two events this weekend, splitting squads between the 2026 YSU Mid-Major Invitational at Youngstown State University and the PSU National Open hosted by Penn State University.
At Youngstown State, the Hilltopper women's 4,000-meter distance medley relay team turned in a historic performance, setting a new school record with a time of 12:51.34, surpassing the previous mark of 13:11.41.
On the men's side, West Liberty's 4,000-meter DMR squad placed third with a time of 10:32.35. In the men's 5,000 meters, Robert Allen finished sixth after crossing the line in 15:13.32, while freshman Isaah Beard added a strong showing in the long jump, placing fifth with a leap of 6.73 meters.
Competing at the PSU National Open, Ky'Ara Ross recorded a top-eight finish in the long jump, claiming eighth place with a mark of 5.60 meters.
The Hilltoppers return to action this Saturday with competition continuing in Youngstown, Ohio, and University Park, Pa.
