WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – Five members of the West Liberty University men's track & field and cross country programs have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.

Senior Robert Allen, senior Dorde Donovic, junior Ethan Furbee, junior Jacob Huffman and senior Timber Huysmans earned the prestigious honor, which recognizes student-athletes for their combined achievements in the classroom and in competition.

Allen, a native of Moundsville, W.Va., carries a 3.80 GPA while pursuing an Accelerated MBA. The senior distance standout qualified for Academic All-District recognition after posting top regional performances in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track, including regional rankings in the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter runs.

Donovic, a senior from Bar, Montenegro, owns a perfect 4.00 GPA in Accounting. He earned recognition through his performances in the high jump and 400-meter hurdles, ranking among the Atlantic Region's top performers.

Furbee, a General Business major from Byesville, Ohio, sports a 3.60 GPA. The junior high jumper secured Academic All-District honors after recording top-50 regional performances during both the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Huffman, a Human Biology major from Wheeling, W.Va., maintains a 3.71 GPA. The junior qualified through his performance in the decathlon, ranking among the region's top competitors in the multi-event discipline.

Huysmans, a senior from Humbeek, Belgium, carries a 3.88 GPA while pursuing an Accelerated MBA. One of the Mountain East Conference's top sprinters, he earned Academic All-District recognition with regional rankings in both the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes.

The CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. Nominees must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA while meeting specific competition standards within their respective sports.

The five honorees continue West Liberty's tradition of excellence in the classroom and on the track while representing the Black and Gold at the highest level.
