HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – West Liberty University track and field athletes delivered record-breaking performances on Sunday as six school records fell on the opening day of the Mountain East Conference Indoor Championship at Marshall University.
Hunter Patterson continued his electrifying season by resetting his own school record in the 60-meter dash, clocking an impressive 6.69 seconds—not only a new MEC record but also the ninth-fastest time in NCAA Division II this season.
In the field events, Isaac Tavo won the MEC championship and broke his own school record in the shot put with a toss of 16.66 meters, ranking 34th in Division II this year.
The women's squad also made history, led by Ky'Ara Ross, who shattered three school records. She leaped 5.94 meters to win the long jump championship, ranking 14th in Division II, before sprinting to a 7.66-second finish in the 60-meter dash, the 25th-best time in Division II and an NCAA provisional mark. And finally in the 200m dash setting a new mark of 24.88.

Adding to the record-breaking spree, Brookelyn Reynolds set a new school standard in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.16 seconds.
