Berea, Ohio – The West Liberty University men's and women's track & field teams notched a total of eight top-10 finishes, a pair of school-records, and one event win on Friday afternoon at the Harrison Dillard Twilight hosted by Baldwin-Wallace University. Highlighting the day were school-records for
Kennedy Martin in the shot put and
Sierra Lanham in the 100m dash. Additionally, Lanham posted a win in the long jump as the Hilltoppers posted a one-two finish while
Ky'Ara Ross added a second place finish in the event.

HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
- Brijaun Baylor posted a tenth place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.47m (21' 2.75").
- With a time of 14.75 in the prelims of the 110m hurdles, Mikhi Anderson qualified for the finals. In the event finals he improved his time to 14.260 for second place, just 0.01 seconds behind first.
- Lorenzo Ferrera clocked a time of 10.85 to finish 15th place in the 100m dash prelims.
- Tavian Richardson recorded a top-10 finish in the 800m run with a time of 1:53.84, and Francis Toohey notched a time of 1:56.64 for 25th place.
- Ferrera notched a 16th place finish in the 200m dash as he crossed the finish line with a time of 22.02.
- Philip White recorded a time of 4:02.54 in the 1,500m run for a 41st place finish.
- Brody Cermak turned in a career-best time of 15:46.64 in the 5,000m run for a 39th place finish.
HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
- Haley Norris led the Hilltopper throwers in the hammer throw with a 14th place finish and a mark of 39.15m (128' 5"), while Kaylee Savage was 15th with a throw of 38.52m (126' 4"). Other WLU athletes competing in the event was Katie Hill in 17th with a mark of 37.44m (122' 10"), Emma Haley in 25th with a mark of 30.22m (99' 2"), and Kennedy Martin in 26th with a career-best mark of 26.60m (87' 3").
- Martin led the way in the shot put with a top-10 finish, setting a school-record and a career-best mark of 12.56m (41' 2.5") for seventh place. Savage added an 18th place finish with a mark of 11.27m (36' 11.75"). Rounding out the group of throwers were Jennifer DiLullo in 26th with a mark of 9.54m (31' 3.75"), Hill in 27th with a mark of 8.57m (28' 1.5"), and Haley in 28th with a mark of 7.48m (24' 6.5").
- Sierra Lanham and Ky'Ara Ross went one-two in the long jump once again as they each recorded marks of 5.86m (19' 2.75") with the placing being differentiated by the wind factor. Ross's mark was a new career-best mark.
- Lanham posted a school-record time of 12.20 in the 100m dash prelims and Ross added a time of 12.39 to both advance to the finals with fifth and seventh place finishes. The pair did not compete in the finals heat. Also competing in the prelims were Abbe Stackpole and Brookelyn Reynolds with times of 12.60 and 12.98 for tenth and 14th place respectively. Reynold's time in the event was a new career-best.
- Lacey Dimit recorded a time of 2:24.69 for a 33rd place finish in the 800m run.
- Reynolds added another top-15 finish on the day with a time of 1:01.11 for 12th place in the 400m dash.
- Stackpole collected a second top-15 finish at the last chance meet as she posted a career-best time of 25.88 for 13th place in the 200m dash.
- Morgan Lesnansky turned in a time of 18:55.06 for a 14th place finish in the 5,000m run.
UP NEXT
The regular season will conclude on Sunday, May 12, as a few athletes will compete at the Dani Palooza Last Chance hosted by High Point University. The action will get underway at 11 a.m. with field events and 3 p.m. for running events at Vert Stadium in High Point, North Carolina.
