Daniels, W.Va. – The West Liberty men's golf team concluded their first week of competition out on the course, placing 11
th with a three round total of 951 (+87). The Hilltoppers carded rounds of 320 (+32) and 321 (+33) on day one and recorded their best round of the tournament on day two with a score of 310 (+22) to conclude the Glade Springs Fall Kickoff on Wednesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The top West Liberty golfer at the Glade Springs Fall Kickoff was Justin Doerr, who competed as an individual. He carded a 54-hole score of 230 (+14), with round scores of 79 (+7), 74 (+2), and 77 (+5). He posted the best scoring round by a WLU golfer in the second round.
- The highest scoring Hilltopper in the team lineup was Derek Graham with a 232 (+16). Graham posted the lowest round one total for the Black & Gold with a 73 (+1) and followed it up with rounds of 79 (+7) and 80 (+8).
- Ethan Cook, the second individual golfer for WLU, totaled 238 (+22) after two days of golf at Glade Springs Resort. He carded rounds of 83 (+11) and 76 (+4) on the first day of competition and 79 (+7) on the second day.
- Bo Orecchio totaled the third best 54-hole total in the West Liberty lineup. Orecchio totaled a score of 240 (+24) with rounds of 84 (+12), 82 (+10), and 74 (+2). His third round was the best by a WLU player.
- Brandon Lawhon carded rounds of 84 (+12), 80 (+8), and 77 (+52) to total a 241 (+25) in the tournament.
- The final Hilltopper athlete playing in the lineup was Noah Seivertson who carded a score of 246 (+30) with rounds of 83 (+11), 83 (+11), and 80 (+8).

UP NEXT
The West Liberty men's golf team will travel to the state capital next week to play in the UC Invitational hosted by the University of Charleston. Rounds one and two will be played on Monday with round three to follow on Tuesday at the Berry Hills Country Club.
