West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's golf team will host their home fall tournament this Monday and Tuesday with the West Liberty Invitational set to take place at the Steubenville Country Club in Steubenville, Ohio. The seven team field is set for an 8:30 a.m. start time on Monday morning for the first two rounds of competition, while the final round will take place on Tuesday with a start time to be determined.
WEST LIBERTY STORYLINES
- In the number one spot for West Liberty is Brandon Lawhon, who recorded a season low round score (68) and 54-hole score (213) at the Dr. Wally Edgell Invitational last week for a tie for 26th. He has tallied four rounds of even or under par, one round in the 60s, and a stroke average of 74.9 this season.
- Derek Graham will tee off in the number two spot for WLU. He has the lowest round score shot by a Hilltopper this season of 66 at the UC invitational, leading to a season low 54-hole score of 214 as well for himself. He has notched four rounds of even or under par, one round in the 60s and a 74.5 stroke average this year.
- Justin Doerr will play in the number three spot for the Black & Gold. His season low round of 68 and season low 54-hole score of 216 both occurred at the UC Invitational. He has tallied three rounds of even or under par and one round in the 60s this season.
- Ethan Cook will be in the number four spot in the lineup for West Liberty. He also recorded a season low round score (68) and 54-hole score (218) at the UC Invitational. He has notched two rounds of even or under par, one round in the 60s, and a 75.0 stroke average this season.
- Bo Orecchio will round out the WLU lineup. He has recorded a season low round (69) and 54-hole score (223) at the UC Invitational. He has carded one round of even or under par and one round in the 60s while tallying a 76.7 stroke average this season.
- Jayson Beckner and Noah Seivertson will play as individuals for the Hilltoppers at the Steubenville Country Club. Beckner has tallied a season stroke average of 77.0 while Seivertson has tallied an average of 77.5 through 12 rounds on the year. Both players have one round of even or under par on the season.
- Cao Yixing and Awethu Mkhwanazi will make their season debut playing as individuals at the West Liberty Invitational.
