WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's golf team is headed back to the postseason, earning a berth in the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional as announced by the NCAA.
The selection marks the Hilltoppers' second straight NCAA Regional appearance and their 11th trip in the past 12 seasons, continuing a long-standing tradition of success for the program.
West Liberty is one of 80 teams selected to compete across four regional sites, with competition set for May 7–9 at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown will serve as the host institution.
The Hilltoppers will compete in a strong Atlantic Region field that includes Gannon, West Chester, Pitt-Johnstown, Indiana (Pa.), Charleston, Fairmont State, and Wheeling, among others.
At each regional site, the top three teams along with the top two individual finishers not on advancing teams will earn a berth to the NCAA Division II National Championships, scheduled for May 18–22 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada. Additional team spots will be awarded based on regional performance in last year's championships, with a maximum of seven teams advancing from any one region.
West Liberty enters postseason play in strong form after a runner-up finish at the Bedford Springs Invitational. The Hilltoppers posted a 36-hole score of +16, finishing just one stroke behind Glenville State while tying West Chester for second place in a tightly contested field.
Adam Gill highlighted the event by earning medalist honors at 2-under par, securing the individual title in a playoff. Justin Doerr added a fifth-place finish at +1, while Ethan Cook (+7), Carter Stewart (+10), and Brandon Lawhon (+13) rounded out a balanced lineup performance.
