Charleston, W.Va. – While still early in the 2023 fall schedule, the West Liberty men's and women's golf teams recorded their lowest 54 and 36-hole team scores of the season at the UC Invitational. The Hilltopper men's team carded a 292 (+12) to finish the tournament in 3^rd at 866 (+26), while the Hilltopper women's team posted a second round score of 365 (+81) to finish the tournament in 14^th at 711 (+143).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU MEN'S GOLF

• Ethan Cook carded the best round of the day for West Liberty men's golf, shooting two under par at 68 to finish the tournament 218 (+8).
• In the team lineup, Bo Orecchio was the lone member to shoot under par in the final round, shooting 69 (-1) to finish the UC Invitational at 223 (+13).
• Jayson Beckner, the second Hilltopper playing as an individual in the tournament, carded an even 70 on the final day of play in Charleston to finish the tournament at 226 (+16).
• Derek Graham turned in the lowest 54-hole total for the Black & Gold, finishing 214 (+4) following a final round of 71 (+1).
• Brandon Lawhon recorded a third round total of 75 (+5) for WLU to finish the tournament tied for second in the lineup at 216 (+6).
• Justin Doerr joined Lawhon in finishing the three round tournament at the Berry Hills Country Club at 216 (+6) after notching a third round total of 77 (+7).
• Rounding out the group of seven Hilltopper men's golfers at the UC Invitational was Noah Seivertson, shooting 79 (+9) in the final round to finish the tournament at 231 (+21).

HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU WOMEN'S GOLF

• Alexis Ramby and Erin Shockey tied for the lowest score of the day for the West Liberty women's golf team, each shooting 85 (+14) in the second round to bring their tournament totals to 167 (+25) and 169 (+27) respectively.
• Sara Simon finished third in the Hilltopper lineup, carding a 91 (+20) on the final day of play at the UC Invitational and totaling 175 (+33) in the two rounds.
• Payton Sherry was fourth for the Black & Gold after 36-holes at the Edgewood Country Club, shooting a 104 (+33) for a final score of 200 (+58).
• Rounding out the five player lineup for the Hilltopper women's golf team was Anna Griffith, besting her round one score with a second round of 112 (+41) to finish 225 (+83) in Charleston.
