Warren, Ohio – The West Liberty University men's and women's golf teams will both advance to the third and final round of the 2023 MEC Golf Championships on Wednesday. The Hilltopper men currently have two individuals in the top-20 and carded a second round of 316 (+28). The WLU women have three individuals currently in the top-20 and turned in a 353 (+65) in round two. After finishing tied with Fairmont State through 36 holes, the West Liberty women's golf team advanced on a tie breaker on hole ten (20-21).

HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU MEN'S GOLF
- After 36 holes of golf Derek Graham is the top WLU men's golfer in the individual standings as he is currently in a tie for 13th overall with a score of 156 (+12). He used a birdie on the front nine to help tally a 79 (+7) in the second round.
- Justin Doerr notched the lowest round two total for the Hilltoppers with a 77 (+5) on Tuesday afternoon. He collected a birdie on the 18th hole to finish one over on the back nine. He sits in a tie for 20th currently with a score of 157 (+13) through two rounds.
- Using a birdie on the sixth hole to help finish one over on the front nine, Bo Orecchio ended the day with a score of 81 (+9) for the Black & Gold. He is currently in a tie for 24th overall on the player leaderboard with a two round score of 158 (+14).
- Noah Seivertson and Ethan Cook round out the West Liberty lineup with scores of 163 (+19) and 169 (+25) through the first 36 holes at the Avalon Lakes Country Club. Seivertson, who recorded one birdie on the day to help finish the front nine at two over, ended the day with a score of 79 (+7). Cook also notched one birdie on the day, doing so on hole 11 to help finish the back nine at two over, he ended the day at 82 (+10).

HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU WOMEN'S GOLF
- Erin Shockey continues to lead the way for the West Liberty women's golf team as she is currently tied for 17th on the individual leaderboard with a 36-hole score of 169 (+25). She used a pair of birdies to card a score of 87 (+15) in round two.
- Alexis Ramby and Sara Simon each shot a second round team-low of 83 (+11) on Tuesday morning, with Simon recording a new season-low round score. Ramby notched one birdie, while Simon totaled a team-best with three. Ramby and Simon are tied for 20th overall in the standings with scores of 172 (+28).
- Payton Sherry and Anna Griffith round out the Hilltopper lineup with overall scores of 204 (+60) and 216 (+72), currently sitting in 38th and 40th respectively. Sherry shot a second round score of 100 (+28), while Griffith carded a 110 (+38).
