West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty men's and women's golf teams are both set to compete at the 2023 Mountain East Conference Championships starting on Monday morning. The three day, 54-hole tournament will take place at the par 72, Avalon Lakes and Country Club. The top-6 teams and top-3 individuals not on one of those teams will advance to Wednesday's final round. The WLU men will tee off the first round from 8:50-9:30 a.m. this morning, while the WLU women will tee off the first round from 12:50-1:30 p.m. this afternoon.

WEST LIBERTY MEN'S GOLF STORYLINES

• Justin Doerr will play in the number one spot for the Black & Gold. His season low round of 68 and season low 54-hole score of 216 both occurred at the UC Invitational. He has tallied four rounds of even or under par, one round in the 60s, and a stroke average of 74.7 this season.
• Noah Seivertson will play in the number two spot for the Hilltoppers at the Avalon Lakes and Country Club. He carded a season-low round of 70 that added to a season-low 54-hole score of 216 at the Dr. Wally Edgell Invitational. Seivertson has tallied one round of even or under par, and a stroke average of 76.9 this season.
• Derek Graham will tee off in the number three spot for WLU. He has the lowest round score shot by a Hilltopper this season of 66 at the UC invitational, leading to a season low 54-hole score of 214 as well for himself. He has notched five rounds of even or under par, one round in the 60s, and a stroke average of 75.1 this season.
• Bo Orecchio will be in the number four spot in the lineup for West Liberty. He has recorded a season low round (69) and 54-hole score (223) at the UC Invitational. He has carded one round of even or under par, one round in the 60s, and a stroke average of 76.3 this season.
• Ethan Cook will round out the WLU lineup. He also recorded a season low round score (68) and 54-hole score (218) at the UC Invitational. He has notched three rounds of even or under par, one round in the 60s, and a stroke average of 75.5 this season.

WEST LIBERTY WOMEN'S GOLF STORYLINES

• Erin Shockey turned in the lowest 36-hole score during WLU's season opening tournament at the Glade Springs Fall Kickoff with a 176 (+32). She has a scoring average of 86.3 through four rounds in two tournaments.
• Alexis Ramby recorded the season-low round by a Hilltopper in the opening round of the UC Invitational with a score of 82 (+11). She has a scoring average of 87.3 through four rounds in two tournaments.
• Sara Simon was third in the line for the Black & Gold in both of their first two tournaments. She has a scoring average of 90.5 through four rounds and two tournaments.
• Rounding out the West Liberty lineup are Payton Sherry and Anna Griffith who currently have scoring averages of 106.3 and 114.0 through four rounds and two tournaments.
