INDIANA, Pa. – The West Liberty University men's golf team turned in a strong performance against a competitive field this week, finishing fourth at the Cecil C. Spadafora IUP Invitational at Indiana Country Club.

The Hilltoppers carded rounds of 14-over and 18-over to finish at +32 overall, placing them firmly among the top teams in the 13-team event. West Chester claimed the team title at +20, followed by IUP (+21) and Pitt-Johnstown (+29).

Leading the way for West Liberty was Justin Doerr, who put together one of the most impressive individual performances of the tournament, finishing fourth overall at +5.

Doerr opened the event with a steady round of 71 (+1), positioning himself near the top of the leaderboard early. He followed that with a 75 (+4) in the second round, maintaining his place among the tournament's top contenders.

Throughout the two-day event, Doerr showcased consistency and composure, navigating the 6,651-yard Indiana Country Club layout with efficient ball striking and timely scoring. His ability to limit mistakes and stay within striking distance of the lead proved critical, as he finished just a few shots off the tournament's top spot.

The top-five finish marks one of Doerr's best outings of the season and provided a major boost for the Hilltoppers in the team standings.

West Liberty's depth was also on display throughout the tournament, as Adam Gill and Brandon Lawhon each tied for 21st at +9, with Gill highlighting his performance with a round of 72 while Lawhon delivered steady scoring across both days. Ethan Cook added a 40th-place finish at +13, and Carter Stewart rounded out the lineup in 64th at +21, giving the Hilltoppers a balanced effort across all five competitors.
