Men's Basketball Inks Three For 2023

12/8/2022 12:15:00 PM

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. - Head Men's Basketball Coach Ben Howlett has announced the signing of three recruits for the 2023 class. Terrance Pankey, Kyler D'Augustino, and Garrison Kisner are ready to call the hilltop home next fall.

"All three of these guys have been ultra successful in their high school careers, and we believe they can have the same success here at West Liberty," said Coach Howlett. "We got on them early, and are extremely pleased to add these quality of players to our program next year"

Pankey has been a four-year starter for Youngstown Ursuline High School in Youngstown, Ohio. A 6'2" guard, he is coming off a junior season averaging 19 points, 12.8 rebounds, and five assists per game, which led to a first team all-county, second team all-NEO, and special mention all-state honor. Pankey is right back at this season kicking off his senior year with 20 and 18 points in the first two games to lead the 18th ranked Irish to a 2-0 start.

D'Augustino is a record-setting guard from Alexander High School in Albany, Ohio. Still with a year to play, he became the school's all-time leading scorer last February and also holds the single-game scoring record with a 43-point performance. In his junior campaign D'Augustino averaged  27.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 4.5 steals per game, leading the Spartans to a share of the TVC-Ohio title and a sectional championship. He was named the Tri-Valley Conference Player of the Year, Co-OPSWA Division III Southeast District Player of the Year, and was second team all-Ohio in Division III. An all-around athlete and winner, D'Augustino is also an all-state soccer player leading his team in goals with over 50 in his career.

Kisner hails from Morgantown, W.Va. and is set to compete for the reigning state champions, Morgantown High School, this year after transferring from University High School. The 6'7" forward averaged 16 points and seven rebounds per game for The U while shooting 58% from the floor. A standout in the classroom as well, Kisner was inducted into the National Honor Society last year as a junior.
