WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – West Liberty University men's basketball standout Landon Butler has been named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.

A junior guard from Latrobe, Pa., Butler earns the honor for the second consecutive season after previously being recognized in 2025 while competing at Coker University.

Butler has made a seamless transition both on the court and in the classroom at West Liberty, carrying a strong 3.61 cumulative GPA as a health and physical education major. His continued academic success reflects his commitment to excellence in all aspects of the student-athlete experience.

The Greater Latrobe High School product has been a key contributor for the Hilltoppers, bringing versatility and consistency to the backcourt while balancing the demands of a rigorous academic schedule.

The CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both athletically and academically, requiring significant contributions in competition alongside a high cumulative GPA.

With this latest honor, Butler continues to exemplify the standards of the West Liberty men's basketball program, demonstrating success in the classroom to match his impact on the court.
