WARREN, Ohio -
Alex Easthom shot a 74 on day two of the Mountain East Golf Championship this morning and sits atop the leaderboard heading into the final round tomorrow. Both the West Liberty men's and women's teams are in fifth place after 36 holes.
Easthom came out strong with eight pars and a birdie over the first nine holes after starting the day on the 10th tee. A 39 on the back nine led to a second round 74, which gives him a one shot lead on the field.
Bo Orecchio moved up three spots, the largest jump of any Hilltopper on day two, with a round of 75 that featured a trio of birdies.
Noah Seivertson stayed in the top-25 with a second consecutive 80.
The women's team improved seven shots to a 355 and remained in fifth place.
Erin Shockey carded the team's only birdie on way to a 87 to lead the Black and Gold.
Claire Kelly and
Alexis Ramby sit in a tie for 22nd and 20th place with two-day scores of 176 and 177.
