6th Straight NCAA Bid for West Liberty Golf

Men's Golf | 4/26/2019 7:31:00 PM

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The West Liberty University men's golf team is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth consecutive year.
Coach Mike Ricci and his perennial Atlantic Region powerhouse learned Friday night that they will be making the short trek to Greensburg, Pa. next month to compete with 19 other squads and eight at-large individuals in the combined NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional Tournament.
Hosted by California (Pa.) University, the 54-hole event is set for May 9-11 at Totteridge Golf Club, a rolling 7,154-yard layout that plays to a par of 72.
The Atlantic/East regional is one of four combined regional tournaments that will be conducted on those dates to determine the field for the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament.
The top three teams from each combined regional and the top two student-athletes not with one of those teams advance to this year's national championships. The remaining eight team berths will be allocated based on the regions represented in the head-to-head medal play segment of last year's national championships.
The Mountain East Conference will be hosting this year's national championship tournament at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, W.Va. The tournament will run from May 20-24.
