BOULDER CITY, Nev. – West Liberty University's Adam Gill completed the second round of the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship on Tuesday at Boulder Creek Golf Club, finishing the day with a seven-over-par 79.
Competing as an individual qualifier, Gill sits tied for 97th overall through two rounds with an 11-over-par total of 155. The Hilltopper freshman opened the championship Monday with a four-over 76 .
Florida Southern moved into the team lead after the second round at 18-under-par, one shot ahead of Missouri-St. Louis. Columbus State made the biggest move of the day, climbing into third after posting a tournament-best 12-under-par team score Tuesday.
Individually, Columbus State's Ian Pienaar holds the 36-hole lead at 10-under-par, while West Florida's Per Ekelund and USC Beaufort's Octavio Laurent are tied for second at 8-under.
Gill returns to the course Wednesday for the final round of stroke play and is scheduled to tee off at 11:25 a.m. ET alongside Nick Ennis of Western Washington and Jake Kolich of Washburn.
