3/16/2026 8:00:00 AM

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – West Liberty University men's soccer midfielder EJ Sablan will represent the Guam Men's National Team this spring as part of the 2026 FIFA Series matches in Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico will host the event at Estadio Juan Ramón Loubriel, marking the first time the U.S. territory has organized an official FIFA tournament. The series will feature Guam, American Samoa and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Sablan, a junior from Puyallup, Washington, appeared in 16 matches for the Hilltoppers during the 2025 season, making seven starts and logging 681 minutes in the midfield.

He finished the year with two goals and one assist for five points, including goals against Frostburg State and West Virginia Wesleyan. Sablan also added an assist against Salem and recorded 23 shots with 12 on goal during the season.

A 5-foot-9 midfielder and Emerald Ridge High School graduate, Sablan has become a versatile presence in the West Liberty midfield and now will have the opportunity to compete on the international stage with Guam.

The FIFA Series matches are scheduled to take place March 18-29.
