WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — West Liberty University Athletic Director Brad Forshey has announced the appointment of Michael Guinn II as interim head coach of the Hilltoppers' men's and women's cross country and track & field programs.
Guinn recently completed his second season as West Liberty's lead assistant, overseeing the distance runners and supporting recruiting and athlete development across the program. He brings over 15 years of collegiate coaching experience, including prior roles at Bethany College, Seton Hill, and West Virginia Wesleyan.
"Coach Guinn has quickly earned the respect of our student-athletes and staff," Forshey said. "His experience, leadership, and passion for the sports make him the right person to guide the program through this transition."
Former head coach Jason Falvo has stepped down to pursue new professional opportunities. The Hilltoppers qualified four athletes for the NCAA National Championships under his leadership in 2025, including two who earned All-America honors. West Liberty thanks Coach Falvo for his service and wishes him continued success.
