WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — Senior Robert "Mack" Allen has been named this week's Hilltopper of the Week after leading the West Liberty University men's cross country team to one of its best performances of the season at the Mountain East Conference Championships on Saturday morning at Oglebay Resort.
Allen paced the Hilltoppers with a 19th-place finish in the 8-kilometer race, clocking a time of 27:07.97 to earn Second Team All-MEC honors. His performance helped West Liberty secure a fifth-place team finish in a deep and competitive field, edging out conference rivals Point Park and Glenville State while finishing just behind Concord.
The Moundsville native's consistency and leadership have been key to the Hilltoppers' success throughout the fall, as the team continues to show improvement each week. Allen's strong effort at the conference meet sets the tone for the next challenge — the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Championships, set for November 8 in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania.
