WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's golf team is gearing up for postseason play as part of a competitive 20-team field at the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional. The three-day event tees off Thursday at Whispering Woods Golf Club in Erie, Pa., and runs through Saturday.

The Hilltoppers return to familiar territory, having competed on the same par-72 course just two weeks ago in the regional preview, where they posted a strong third-place finish with a two-day total of 597 (+21)—only six strokes behind the tournament champion, Davis & Elkins.

Senior Brogan Bennett led the way with an outstanding performance, tying for the individual lead at 141 (-3). His confidence is high heading into the regional.

"Playing well in the preview showed me I can compete with some of the top-ranked players in the country," Bennett said. "The course suits my game, and I know what I'm capable of shooting there. The key will be staying aggressive when I'm in that top spot again and looking for more chances to make a run at nationals."

Head Coach Thadd Obecny is excited about Bennett's potential.

"Brogan is a fantastic player with a bright future," said Obecny. "This will be his first regional postseason start, and I expect him to show up ready to win another tournament."

Joining Bennett in the regional lineup are Justin Doerr, Noah Seivertson, Jayson Beckner, and Ethan Cook. Doerr also delivered a solid showing in the preview, finishing ninth with a two-day score of 148 (+4). Seivertson tied for 20th at 151 (+7), followed by Beckner at 157 (+13), and Cook at 179 (+25). Eirik Lindholm will serve as the team sub if needed.
