WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — All-Region honors for the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), and three standout athletes from West Liberty University earned a spot on the prestigious list. Isaac Tavo (discus), Hunter Patterson (200m), and Ky'Ara Ross (long jump) were each recognized after turning in record-breaking performances throughout the outdoor season. All three currently hold the school record in their respective events.

Isaac Tavo – Men's Discus

Sophomore thrower Isaac Tavo has emerged as a force in the discus this season. At the WVU Last Chance Meet on May 10, he shattered his own school record with a 54.56-meter throw, ranking him 16th nationally in NCAA Division II and securing his place at the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships. Tavo has consistently pushed the program's boundaries this spring, also setting a then-record of 51.37 meters at the Marty Goldberg Gator Invite.

Hunter Patterson – Men's 200 Meters

Junior sprinter Hunter Patterson has been one of the Hilltoppers' most dynamic athletes. He owns the school records in both the 100m (10.41) and 200m (21.00), with his speed and consistency earning him All-Region honors. Patterson also capped off a stellar indoor season by earning All-American status in the 60m dash at the NCAA Indoor Championships, finishing 7th in the nation with a time of 6.76 seconds. Earlier this spring, he was named the 2025 Mountain East Conference Track Athlete of the Year.

Ky'Ara Ross – Women's Long Jump

Sophomore Ky'Ara Ross has had a breakout season in the long jump. She captured the Mountain East Conference outdoor title with a school-record leap of 6.13 meters and was equally impressive indoors, setting a new program and MEC indoor record of 5.94 meters. Ross's consistent top-tier performances have earned her a trip to the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships, where she will represent the Hilltoppers on the national stage.

Tavo and Ross will compete at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, set for May 22–24 at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl in Pueblo, Colorado.
