WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's and women's tennis teams will close out their regular seasons on Tuesday with a road matchup at Fairmont State. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Fairmont State courts.
The WLU women's team enters the contest with a 5-7 overall record and a 2-4 mark in Mountain East Conference (MEC) play, currently holding fourth place in the conference standings. Fairmont State sits in second place at 8-4 overall and an unbeaten 3-0 in MEC action.
West Liberty is looking to bounce back after a tough weekend on the road, falling 5-2 to Davis & Elkins and 7-0 to Charleston. Despite the setback, senior Evelina Martirosyan continues to shine. She suffered her first singles loss of the season on Saturday at UC but still holds an impressive 11-1 record at No. 1 singles. Omolade Aderemi has also been a strong contributor with a 10-2 record at No. 2 singles.
On the men's side, West Liberty is 1-11 overall and still seeking its first conference win (0-5 MEC), while Fairmont State enters Tuesday's match at 8-4 overall and 2-1 in MEC play.
