Angola, Ind. - West Liberty University delivered a strong performance to claim victory over Trine University, finishing with a score of 241.275 to Trine's 218.780 in Friday evening's Acrobatic & Tumbling meet. The Hilltoppers improved to 2-3 on the season, while Trine dropped to 1-3.
West Liberty set the tone early by winning the compulsory event 35.50-28.25, excelling in the pyramid (9.55) and toss (9.60) heats. The team continued to impress in the pyramid event, particularly in the open heat (9.90) and synchronized heat (9.60), narrowly outscoring Trine 29.20-28.45.
In the toss event, the Hilltoppers put up a solid effort, with their 450 Salto heat (8.60) leading the way. Meanwhile, the tumbling event saw strong performances in the open pass (8.4) and aerial pass (8.225), contributing to a 45.375-43.400 advantage.
The meet concluded with the team event, where West Liberty sealed the win with a 79.35-71.18 margin.
The Hilltoppers return March 15 at Belmont.Â
