Hilltopper of the Week: Cameron Williams

12/23/2025 1:00:00 PM

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — Freshman guard Cameron Williams has been named West Liberty's Hilltopper of the Week following a strong showing in neutral-site play and continued growth in the Hilltoppers' backcourt rotation.

The 6-foot-2 guard from Cincinnati, Ohio, and a graduate of Elder High School, delivered one of his most complete performances of the season during West Liberty's trip to the DII Holiday Hoops Classic in Las Vegas. Williams scored 14 points against Angelo State before pouring in a career-high 22 points versus No. 7 Lubbock Christian, helping keep the Hilltoppers in contention until the final seconds.

Williams was highly efficient in the two-game stretch, shooting 9-of-16 from the field while going 18-of-20 from the free-throw line, showcasing poise beyond his years in high-pressure situations. His ability to attack the rim and convert at the stripe proved critical, particularly late against Lubbock Christian, where he finished 10-of-11 at the line.

On the season, Williams is averaging 10.2 points per game, while shooting an outstanding 93.8 percent from the free-throw line. He has scored in double figures in five games, including three of his last four, and continues to provide energy, toughness, and defensive effort on the perimeter, totaling 16 steals through the first 10 contests.
