West Liberty, W.Va. – West Liberty University's two-time national champion wrestler, Ty McGeary, has been honored as the Mountain East Conference (MEC) Co-Wrestler of the Week, an award presented by The Health Plan.
McGeary's recognition comes after a dominant performance at the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where he delivered a perfect weekend for the Hilltoppers.
-
Day One: McGeary showcased his scoring prowess with two decisive major decision victories, winning 19-10 and 17-5.
-
Day Two: He followed up with a pair of falls, one in just 46 seconds and the other at 4:40, further solidifying his status as a top competitor.
The Hilltoppers now prepare for a busy schedule ahead. McGeary and his teammates will compete at the Mount Union Open on Sunday, followed by back-to-back home duals at the ASRC against Gannon University on January 24 and Davis & Elkins on January 25.
McGeary's continued success underscores his role as a leader on the mat and a key contributor to West Liberty's wrestling program.
