ALLIANCE, Ohio– The West Liberty Men's Golf team took home a first place finish in the season opener at the Malone Fall Classic. The Black and gold posted a 36-hole total of 585 (+9) at the Tannenhof Golf Club.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

Brogan Bennett finished with round totals of 71 and 71 with an round total of 142 (-2), notching a second place in his first event with the Black and Gold

Veteran senior Noah Seivertson checked in at 3rd place and shot a 69 (-3) in the first round

Awethu Mkhwanazi posted a 70 (-2) in the first round and followed with a 76 (+4), resulting in an overall score of 146 (+2) and a top five finish (4th)

Justin Doerr finished in 16th place with rounds of 77 (+5) and 76 (+4) for a total of 153 (+9)

Eirik Lindholm carded 79 in both rounds to finish 27th with an overall score of 158 (+14).

The Black and Gold finished with a overall team score of 585 (+9), with a first-round score of 287 (-1) followed by a 298 (+10) in the closing round

Listed individually, Jayson Beckner finished in 14th place with a two-round total of 152 (+8). His performance included a 74 (+2) in the first round and a 78 (+6) in the second round

Tyler Sauric, finishing in 38th place and posted scores of 81 (+7) and 81 (+11), finishing with an overall score of 162 (+18).
