WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University cross country teams return to Bethany, West Virginia for the second weekend in a row. Last weekend WLU hosted the WLU Cross Country  Invitational at the Bethany Cross Country Course. This weekend  the Hilltoppers harriers compete at the Bethany Bison Invite. The women's race is set for 10:00 a.m. with the men's race to follow at 11:00 a.m. in  Bethany, West Virginia.

WEST LIBERTY MEN'S & WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY STORYLINES:

• The West Liberty men were picked 6th in the 2024 MEC Men's Cross Country Preseason Coaches' Poll

• The West Liberty women were picked 6th in the 2024 MEC Women's Cross Country Preseason Coaches' Poll 

• Head Coach Jason Falvo enter his second season at the helm of the Cross Country programs 

• Falvo was a 5-time PAC Coach of the Year and founding Head Coach at nearby NCAA Division III Waynesburg (Pa.)

• Assistant Coach Mike Guinn, Jr. returns for his second season with the Cross Country teams 

• The men's team went on to earn a top-10 finish at the 2023 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Championships 

• West Liberty sophomore Lacy Dimit earned All-MEC honors with a season best 20th place finish at the 2023 MEC Championships. Dimit was All-MEC Second Team

• At last weekend's WLU invite Robert Allen, Jr. led WLU with a masterful finish in 7th place overall clocking a time of 19:25, fellow Hilltoppers Francis, Toohey followed closely behind grabbing 9th place with a time of 19:32 

• The men's team took home a second place finish last weekend 

• Sophomore Lacey Dimit was the top finisher for WLU, placing 8th with a time of 19:54 

• The West Liberty women's team finished 8th at the WLU invite
