WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – West Liberty University announced today that the Hilltoppers' Men's and Women's Tennis teams will be returning to Mountain East Conference competition in the fall after a one-year hiatus.
The programs had been discontinued last spring but a budgetary restructuring by WLU administration created a sustainable opportunity for the university to reinstate both programs.
"We're tremendously excited to be able to bring back our men's and women's tennis teams," interim Athletic Director Brad Forshey said.
"Men's and women's tennis has a great tradition of success on the courts and in the classroom at West Liberty and we couldn't be more thrilled to reinstate these programs and renew those opportunities for our student-athletes."
