West Liberty Falls to West Virginia Wesleyan in Road Match

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to West Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon.

The Bobcats secured the doubles point with wins across all three positions. The Hilltoppers' top duo of Pablo Zubieta and Ethan Shepard fell 6-1, while the pairings of Ignacio Giurfa / Austin Zgurski and Chris Burns / Robert Lindsey were each defeated 6-0.

In singles play, West Virginia Wesleyan continued its momentum, sweeping all six matches in straight sets. Zubieta battled at No. 1 singles, but fell 6-0, 6-0, while Giurfa pushed for points at No. 2 before dropping a 6-0, 6-1 decision. Shepard turned in a competitive effort at No. 3 singles, winning games in both sets before falling 6-1, 6-3.

Zgurski, Burns, and Aidan Lucas rounded out the lineup for West Liberty, each facing tough opposition as the Bobcats closed out the sweep.
