Indianapolis, Ind. – In the first release of the NCAA Division II men's basketball regional rankings on Wednesday afternoon West Liberty was among the ten schools under consideration in the Atlantic Region. The Hilltoppers currently own a 19-5 (13-3) record during the 2023-24 season and are second place in the MEC standings as four games remain in the regular season.
The initial poll released by the NCAA lists teams under consideration in alphabetical order while future releases leading up to the selection show will then rank the team's 1-10. The Atlantic Region is made up of schools in the Mountain East Conference (MEC), Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), and the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA). Each league's tournament champion will receive an automatic bid while the five remaining spots in the bracket will be selected on an at-large basis. In the initial release the MEC and the PSAC both had five teams represented.
