West Liberty, W.Va. – Four players from the West Liberty University men's soccer team have earned recognition from the Mountain East Conference (MEC) for their outstanding performances this season.
Sophomore Zachary Forehand, redshirt senior Cormac McGinley, and sophomore Jasper Newton received Honorable Mentions, while freshman Lachlan Quate was named to the All-Freshman Team.
Forehand, a forward from McKinney, Texas, led the Hilltoppers in multiple offensive categories, finishing the season with 7 goals, 6 assists, 3 game-winning goals, 26 shots on goal, and 19 points.
Newton, hailing from Stockport, England, anchored the defense, logging 1,514 minutes—the second-highest total on the team—and contributed a goal during a September 21 matchup against Point Park.
McGinley, a native of Derry, Northern Ireland, displayed his versatility and reliability as a key defensive player throughout the season.
Quate, from Inverness, Scotland, made a significant impact as a freshman, scoring the decisive goal in the October 9 victory over Point Park at the West Family Athletic Complex.
Congratulations to these Hilltoppers for their well-deserved honors!
