New Concord, Ohio – The West Liberty University men's and women's track & field teams recorded a pair of top-5 team finishes on Saturday at the Muskie Meet #3 as the men posted a second place finish with 126 points while the women were fifth with 62 points. Both the men's and women's teams broke the school record in the 4x200 relay while
Brookelyn Reynolds etched her name into the record books with the fastest 500m run in program history.

HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
- In the 60m dash the Hilltoppers saw three athletes post prelim times among the top-6 runners, with Hunter Patterson crossing the line with the top time of 6.89, Lorenzo Ferrera ranked third (7.03), and Mikhi Anderson was sixth (7.06). In the finals, Patterson and Ferrera crossed the line second and third respectively with times of 6.89 and 6.99.
- Brody Cermak was the lone Hilltopper competing in the 3,000m run, turning in a 21st place finish and time of 9:29.81.
- As the only competitor in the 1 mile run field for WLU, Tyler Davis ran to a time of 5:14.00 for a 41st place finish and was second in his heat.
- Mikhi Anderson continued his dominance in the 60m hurdles, earning another win in the event with a time of 8.15 in the finals following a time of 8.12 in the prelims. George Donovic just missed the cut for the finals with a ninth place finish in the prelims as he crossed the line in 8.86.
- Arthur Williams recorded the fastest time for West Liberty in the 400m dash, finishing fourth with a time of 52.22 while Malachi Stewart was 28th and crossed the line in 1:01.01.
- Tavian Richardson won the 500m run with a time of 1:09.03.
- Francis Toohey and Philip White notched a pair of top-10 finishes in the 800m run, crossing the line in times of 2:01.69 and 2:03.26.
- The trio of Patterson, Ferrera, and Nathan Baker recorded top-12 finishes in the 200m dash, as Patterson secured yet another win in the event with a time of 22.45 while Ferrera was sixth (23.13) and Baker was 12th (23.70).
- Robert Allen led the way in the 5,000m run as he paced the Hilltoppers with a time of 16:13.47 for an eighth place finish. Cermak recorded a 16th place finish and crossed the finish in 16:45.70.
- The team of Toohey, Richardson, Chase Pepper, and Allen recorded a second place finish in the 4,000m distance medley relay, finishing with a time of 10:47.56.
- West Liberty won the 4x200m relay and broke the school record with the team of Patterson, Ferrera, Baker, and Williams recording a time of 1:31.03.
- Ethan Furbee tied for the best mark in the high jump competition with a jump of 1.92m (6' 3.50"). Donovic and Anderson added top-10 finishes with jumps of 1.92m (6' 3.50") and 1.87 (6' 1.50") respectively.
- Reese Burnside led the West Liberty pole vault crew with a mark of 4.46m (14' 7.50") for third place. Julius Hobbs and Nate Lucas notched 11th and 14th place results with vaults of 4.06m (13' 3.75") and 3.81m (12' 6") respectively.
- Daminn Cunningham and Bri'Juan Baylor earned a pair of top-10 finishes in the long jump, notching marks of 6.47m (21' 2.75") and 6.31m (20' 8.50") respectively for third and seventh place.
- Cunningham led the way in the triple jump with a third place mark of 12.99m (42' 7.50") while Baylor and Quinn Ashbrooke were ninth and 11th with jumps of 12.40m (40' 8.25") and 12.00m (39' 4.50").
- Joshua Fancher posted the top mark by a WLU athlete in the shot put, finishing fourth with a throw of 14.34m (47' 0.75"). John Brown and Aidan Horan were 14th and 16th respectively with marks of 12.53m (41' 1.50") and 12.49m (40' 11.75").
- Brown and Fancher secured a pair of top-10 finishes in the weight throw with marks of 15.39m (50' 6") and 14.11m (46' 3.50"). Jordyn Dickerson was just outside of the top-10 with a throw of 13.37m (43' 10.50") for 13th place.

HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
- Sierra Lanham and Ky'Ara Ross posted the fastest two times in the prelims of the 60m dash with times of 8.05 and 8.06, while Abbe Stackpole qualified with the six fastest prelim time at 8.23. In the finals the trio all finished within the top-4 of the finals, as Ross crossed the line second (8.00), Lanham was third (8.11), and Stackpole was fourth (8.17).
- Lacey Dimit and Morgan Lesnansky notched a pair of top-20 finishes in the 1 mile run, posting times of 5:41.56 and 5:42.50.
- After posting times of 9.75 and 10.33 in the prelims, the Hilltoppers saw a pair of freshmen finish in the event finals of the 60m hurdles as Marissa Scott and Hope Gestl finished fifth and sixth respectively with times of 10.16 and 10.38.
- In the 400m dash Bailey Pack was the lone runner for WLU, turning in a time of 1:13.99 for a 30th place finish.
- Brookelyn Reynolds secured a third place finish in the 500m run with a school record time of 1:26.50.
- Dimit recorded a fifth place finish in the 800m run and a time of 2:31.82.
- Just like in the 60m dash, the trio of Lanham, Ross, and Stackpole collected top-10 finishes in the 200m dash. Lanham led the way with a third place finish in 27.10 while Ross was sixth (27.79) and Stackpole was tenth (28.37).
- West Liberty ran to a second place finish and school record in the 4x200m relay as the team of Lanham, Ross, Stackpole, and Reynolds crossed the line in 1:49.57.
- Lauren Wyatt secured a tenth place finish in the long jump with a mark of 4.60m (15' 1.25").
- Kennedy Martin notched a second place finish in the shot put with a throw of 12.31m (40' 4.75"). She was joined in the top-15 by Kaylee Savage who was 13th with a throw of 10.57m (34' 8.25"), Sierra Davis was 14th with a mark of 10.51m (34' 5.75"), and Haley Norris rounded out the group with a throw of 10.32m (33' 10.25") for 15th overall.
- Norris just missed the top-10 in the weight throw with a mark of 12.48m (40' 11.50") for 11th place while Davis was 18th with a throw of 11.80m (38' 8.75").
UP NEXT
The West Liberty track & field teams will be in action next weekend's YSU Mid Major Invitational as the 2-day event gets underway on Friday, February 2, and will end on Saturday, February 3. The action gets started at 1 p.m. on Friday in the Watson and Tressel Training Site.
