West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty men’s soccer team and fifth year head coach Sean Regan announced their 18-game 2023 schedule, featuring 16 Mountain East Conference contests on Wednesday afternoon. Highlighting the Hilltopper schedule will be six games against teams who qualified for the NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Tournament a year ago.
The Hilltoppers will begin the 2023 campaign by going right into MEC play with a road match at Davis & Elkins on September 2. West Liberty will then return to the hilltop the following week with a pair of games to open their home schedule on September 6 and 10 as they face Concord and Notre Dame (OH).
The first non-conference match of the season for WLU comes on September 13 as they travel to California (PA). The Toppers then return to MEC action on September 17 against Alderson Broaddus before traveling to Frostburg State on September 20. The month of September concludes with a home match against Wheeling on September 24, before traveling to face the defending MEC regular season and tournament champions at Charleston on September 27.
The Hilltoppers will open the month of October at the friendly confines of the West Family Athletic Complex against West Virginia Wesleyan on October 1. WLU will then travel to Alderson Broaddus on October 4 before stepping out of MEC action for their final non-conference match of the year at D’Youville on October 7. A pair of home matches against Davis & Elkins and Frostburg State will be October 11 and 15, right before the Toppers conclude the regular season with four of their final five matches on the road.
West Liberty enters the final stretch of the year with road games at Concord and Notre Dame (OH) on October 18 and 22 before a mid-week match-up with Charleston on October 25 marks the final home contest of the season. The Hilltoppers will then close the regular season by traveling to West Virginia Wesleyan on October 29 and Wheeling on November 1.
