WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – West Liberty University women's basketball head coach Kyle Cooper announced Monday that Camryn Felix, a 5-5 redshirt freshman shooting guard, has transferred to WLU from NCAA Division II Bloomsburg (Pa.) and will have four years of eligibility on the hilltop.

     "We're excited to officially welcome Camryn and her family to our women's basketball family at West Liberty," Cooper said. "We had established a relationship with Camryn out of high school and couldn't be happier that she chose us for her new college home."

     Felix began her high school career at Delone Catholic in McSherrystown, Pa. She had an immediate impact as a true freshman, starting at point guard on a Squirettes squad that shocked previously-unbeaten Dunmore, 49-43, in the Pennsylvania Class 3A state championship game.

     The newest Hilltopper played her final seasons of scholastic basketball as a double-figure scorer at PIAA Class 5A Gettysburg High School, helping lead the Warriors to back-to-back PIAA Class 5A District championships. A deadly perimeter shooter, Felix knocked down 252 3-point field goals and scored 1,186 career points in high school while helping lead her teams to an impressive 91-15 (.858) record.

     "There's no doubt Camryn is a high-level shooter from beyond the arc," Cooper said. "The fact that she combines that skill with a high basketball IQ and elite work ethic put her in position to be a natural fit in our system. Camryn connected immediately with our team on her visit and showed a real appreciation for our approach of being grounded in family. I know she's as excited as we are for her to get here and get to work."

     In addition to her athletic exploits, Felix is just as impressive in the classroom. A National Honor Society student in high school, she plans to continue pursuing a Speech Pathology/Audiology major on the hilltop.

     Camryn is the daughter of Alan and Beth Felix.
