WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Slippery Rock (Pa.) women's tennis team handed West Liberty a 5-2 loss here Saturday in a meeting of NCAA Division II Atlantic Region ranked squads at Washington Park.

    The Rock (10-6) took control early against Coach Heather Gallagher's Hilltoppers (11-4) by taking the doubles point. West Liberty got a win at No. 1 doubles from Emma Arnal and Gemma Cliffe but the Pennsylvania school swept the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches to earn the point.

    Cliffe picked up a straight-set win at No. 3 singles and Jacqueline Pena-Aceves gutted out a three-set victory for WLU at No. 5 singles but Slippery Rock took the remaining four singles matches to close out the match.

    The Hilltoppers travel to No. 20 Charleston on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. match.
