West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's tennis team turned in a strong performance Friday with a dominant 7-0 sweep of Franciscan before dropping a 4-0 decision to Fairmont State in Mountain East Conference play on Saturday.

West Liberty opened the weekend in commanding fashion, sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the early point and carrying that momentum into singles play.
The No. 1 doubles team of Maria Martirosyan and Ana Sánchez earned a 6-2 win, while Sanchita Dabas and Courtney Curnutte matched that score at No. 2. Gabrielle Pasco and Elle Monaco completed the doubles sweep with a 6-0 victory.
In singles, the Hilltoppers controlled every court. Martirosyan set the tone with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1, while Sánchez battled through adversity to earn a win by retirement at No. 2. Dabas and Curnutte each cruised to straight-set victories at No. 3 and No. 4.
Pasco delivered one of the most competitive matches of the day at No. 5, rallying for a 3-6, 6-4, 11-9 win in a super tiebreak, while Monaco closed out the sweep with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 6.

The Hilltoppers returned home Saturday but ran into a strong Fairmont State squad.
The Falcons claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2, taking early control of the match. Martirosyan and Sánchez fell 6-1 at the top spot, while Dabas and Curnutte dropped a 6-1 decision at No. 2.
In singles play, Fairmont State continued its momentum, securing wins at the top four positions to clinch the match. Martirosyan competed at No. 1, falling 6-3, 6-1, while Sánchez battled at No. 2 in a 6-4, 6-2 decision. Dabas and Curnutte rounded out the completed matches as the Falcons secured the 4-0 victory.
